3H-Valley of Thousand Waters
Price from 37.490 ISK
Total time 5,5 hrs / Season: May - Nov
The open trail becomes your home for the next three days of the expedition reaching into the depths of the wild nature in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve. Your ATV will wind through mountain roads within the highlands giving way to spectacular views that the locals like to keep to themselves.
Each day includes between 5-7 hours of drive time on the ATVs (dependent on the preference of the group). A 4×4 super jeep will join your convoy to carry supplies and ensure your safety in the event that Mother Nature works against us. Hotels and crowds become a distant memory of the past that we leave in our dust as our accommodation includes either adventure camping or secluded huts tucked away at the base of Iceland´s mountains. Our guides become your personal mountainside chefs – breakfast, lunch, and dinner are their specialties!
Fjallabak Nature Reserve becomes your alluring natural playground with full rein to have intimate exposure to the fascinating spectacle that is Iceland´s landscape. We don´t like to give away too much, as our hidden gems are the best-kept secret. But – if you must Google, we do tear across the black sand beaches of Mælifellsandur, rip over to one of Iceland´s most looming active volcanoes, Hekla, to see the highland lake Langisjór then over to stunning Eldgjá Canyon.
Do you like massive cascading glaciers? Yeah, us too! Quad Mecca on a clear day you will see Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull. Does Eyjafjallajökull ring a bell to you? Maybe E-15 will? Yes – this is the glacier that capped the 2010 volcanic eruption that grounded nearly all air traffic in Europe and put Iceland on the world stage. She remains to be just as jaw-dropping now in 2015! The expedition also takes you to the alien landscape of Landmannalaugar and many more sites that we´ll let you in the know about later.
Just so you know what you´re up against, the breath-taking scenery doesn´t come without effort. The terrain we cross includes numerous creeks, rivers, and rough territory. However, lucky for you our well-trained guides are the best in the business and will provide you with exceptional instruction and assistance throughout your time with us. We are dedicated to making you feel like an ATV-pro and will take a pace that feels most comfortable to you and your travel companions.
Our accommodations are dependent on the season because this is Iceland after all. We stay in various huts across our terrain. We´re happy to gear the tour to your preferences if you´re more of a Hilton traveler (Note: there are no Hiltons in the highlands of Iceland). We can customize the trip just send us an email. And we can even set up utilized tent camps and offer more to the trip.
