The beauty of Reykjavik is how close nature is. That means you don’t need to spend hours traveling to get amongst it – it’s all waiting just beyond the city limits. We can pick you up from your Reykjavik hotel or nearby bus stop – Please check if your hotel is listed to bus stop. and have you at our quad biking base camp in around 15 minutes. After safety and driving instructions from our expert guides, you’re ready to gear up and hit the mountains.
Your quad bike tour takes you on a route along the lovely Lake Hafravatn, and a variety of terrains to have fun on. Then it’s onwards and upwards as you bike to the top of Hafrafell mountain – the high point of your journey. From there you should be able to see the Hengill mountain range, Iceland’s third most active volcanic system, together with Hellisheiði, the geothermal power plant for the capital area. A spectacular view over Faxaflói bay and the whole capital region, Bláfjöll mountain range and Esja, Reykjavik’s house mountain, is waiting for you.
After your ATV tour, our guides will drop you off at the pick-up location for your next adventure of the day: The Golden Circle with all its highlights. Featuring three of the most important and well-loved sites in Icelandic nature and history: Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir national park. But don´t worry if you feel drained after your ATV adventure, you can relax on this coach tour like no other.
Gullfoss is a waterfall – but not just any waterfall. It’s an awesome reminder of the power of nature, as the river Hvíta thunders through a rocky canyon throwing up an endless spray. The noise alone is something to behold. Believe us, you need to experience Gullfoss.
Geysir makes you pinch yourself – what planet are we on again? The bubbling mud pools, steaming, sulfurous smells, and exploding water towers make you feel like you’ve taken a spaceship instead of coach. And you won’t have to wait long to experience the awe of seeing the Strokkur geyser shoot boiling water high into the air – it happens every 8-10 minutes. So have your camera ready!
The site of the world’s first parliament (over 1000 years ago), meeting place of two tectonic plates, an area of natural beauty. Thingvellir has about as much historical and geological significance as you can get. If you are in Iceland, you have to visit Thingvellir.
